Gebr. Heinemann is aware of the impact of its global travel retail activities on the environment and society. At the same time, our prominent position at the heart of the travel retail market and its value chain gives us extensive influence as a link between industry and consumers. That is why we have included the promise of making a sustainable impact to our industry in our corporate mission statement and anchored our sustainability goals in our strategic development goals for 2030.
As early as 2018, Gebr. Heinemann joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world´s largest and most important initiative for responsible corporate governance. Together with our Code of Ethics, the UNGC principles are the compass for the responsible actions of our family business and an integral part of our sustainability strategy. Through our whistleblower portal, suspicions of possible breaches of the Code of Ethics can be communicated confidentially and anonymously.

Heinemann Americas is proud to build upon Gebr. Heinemann’s history of corporate responsibility in the Americas. Since opening our headquarters in 2014, we have closed partnerships with several local organizations that provide vital services in Miami - and beyond.
Miami’s Lotus House is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless women, youth, and children. Their organization provides a safe place to sleep for nearly 500 people every evening, and provide the supportive services and assistance needed to help end the cycle of homelessness. This includes counseling, health screenings and treatment, and understanding housing goals in order to provide services tailored to each resident’s unique needs. Heinemann Americas is proud to provide financial support and luxury goods to the women and children of Lotus House on a regular basis.
In 2019, Heinemann Americas established a $20,000 scholarship for aviation students through the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) Foundation, an organization that ensures women and minorities have access to contract opportunities within the aviation industry. The largest gift in the foundation’s history helps fund scholarships for students with a desire to work in aviation and have shown promise in the field.
Every year, Camillus House impacts more than 33,000 people in need in South Florida. Since 1960, their staff and volunteers have worked, not only to serve the hungry, homeless, and others in need, but to innovate and transform the way these services are delivered to our neighbors in need with efficiency and compassion. They offer a variety of different services, this includes meals and showers, clothing distribution, housing programs, special help for substance abuse treatment and mental health programs. Helping those in need is part of giving back at Heinemann Americas. We are proud to have found the right partner in Camillus House.
To provide a safe harbor is the main goal of the nationally accredited nonprofit agency Children’s Harbor. Since 1996 they support at risk children, youth and families-keeping brothers and sisters together, strengthening families, and guiding youth towards independence. They do that by providing nurturing and family group homes on their own campus. Other actions they take are to prevent child abuse through their Family Strengthening Program and running different programs to help young adults towards independency. Heinemann Americas is proud to support Children’s Harbor.
